Q: WHAT IS VOIP?
VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol. It is a method for taking analog audio signals (like the kind you hear when you talk on the phone), and turning them into digital data that can be transmitted over the Internet.
Q: WHAT IS LINQK?

Q: HOW CAN I MAKE LINQK CALL?
To make a call using the Linqk service, you simply dial the telephone number of the person that you are trying to contact into your telephone as you would normally.
Q: WHO CAN CALL ME?
When you subscribe to Linqk, you will receive a complimentary Australian capital city geographic telephone number (DID). If you reside outside of a metropolitan call zone, you may choose to port / transfer your existing number to Linqk or alternatively purchase a device with a lifeline (FXO) port.
Q: WHAT IS A LINQK NUMBER?
A Linqk V Number is a fixed line (PSTN) number that allows others who are not subscribers of Linqk to contact you.
Q: WHAT ABOUT THE DIAL TONE?
Subscribers using a Linqk ATA / IAD will experience a traditional Australia dial tone when they pick up the phone.
Q: CAN I USE A COMPUTER AND TALK ON THE PHONE AT THE SAME TIME?
Yes, you can continue to use your computer whilst talking on the Linqk VoIP service.
Q: HOW MANY CONCURRENT CALLS CAN I MAKE ?
VoIP uses very little bandwidth therefore it is possible to have many concurrent telephone calls.
Q: CAN I TAKE MY DEVICE WITH ME AND USE IT WHEN I TRAVEL OVERSEAS?
Yes. Your Linqk ATA / IAD device will work anywhere in the world as long as you can access a high-speed internet connection.
Q: DOES MY COMPUTER HAVE TO BE TURNED ON?
No. If you are using a Linqk ATA / IAD your computer is not required to be turned on when you make a call, but your internet connection needs to be active (with your modem/router turned on).
Q: WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I RECEIVE AN INCOMING LINQK CALL?
If you are using a Linqk ATA / IAD, then your telephone will ring in the normal fashion.
Q: CAN I CALL LANDLINE (PSTN) AND MOBILE NUMBERS?
Yes.
Q: CAN PEOPLE CALL ME FROM LANDLINES AND MOBILES RING ME?
Yes.
Q: WHAT FEATURES COME STANDARD WITH THE SERVICE?

All Linqk call features can be activated via your telephone set by applying the feature codes.
Q: CAN I TAKE THE SERVICE WITH ME IF I MOVE HOME / PREMSISES?
Yes.
Q: CAN I USE THE SERVICE FROM OVERSEAS?
Yes.
Q: CAN I USE A FAX MACHINE WITH THE SERVICE?
No
Q: CAN I CHOOSE MY OWN LINQK NUMBER?
No
Q: CAN I KEEP MY EXISTING TELEPHONE NUMBER (LOCAL) NUMBER PORTABIBILITY?
Yes
Q: WILL I BE LISTED IN THE WHITE?
If you have retained your existing landline (PSTN) service then your existing telephone number will continue to be listed within the White Pages.
Q: CAN I CALL DIRECTORY ASSISTANCE?
Calls to directory assistance can be made using the Linqk service.
Q: CAN I HAVE MULTIPLE NUMBERS? PAGES?
Yes
Q: HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO SET UP LINQK?
Linqk does charge a monthly fee, this fee is dependant on which plan you choose to take up.
Q: WILL I BE CHARGED FOR UPLOADS / DOWNLOADS BY ISP?
Yes.
Q: WHAT IS THE EFFECT ON LINQK WHEN YOUR ISP DOWNLOADS QUOTAS ARE REACHED?
This is solely dependant on what action is taken by your ISP. If your ISP throttles your speed, then this will affect your call quality experience.
Q: DO I HAVE TO KEEP MY EXISTING LANDLINE (PSTN)?
Q: CAN I CALL 000 EMERGENCY SERVICES USING MY LINQK SERVICE?
Yes.
Q: CAN I MAKE CALLS DURING A POWER OUTAGE OR WHEN THERE IS AN INTERRUPTION TO MY INTERNET SERVICE?
Yes.
Q: WHAT IS THE CALL QUALTITY LIKE COMPARED TO A TRADITIONAL TELEPHONE CALL?
Yes.
Q: DO I NEED TO HAVE A BROADBAND INTERNET ACCESS TO USE LINQK?
Yes.
Q: CAN I USE LINQK WITH A DIAL-UP CONNECTION?
We do not recommend the use of the Linqk VoIP service other than with a high speed internet connection.
Q: CAN I CALL GEOGRAPHIC NUMBERS LIKE 13, 1300, 1800, 1900 ETC?
Yes.

Q: WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
A high speed internet connection, a broadband modem with an Ethernet port, Linqk ATA / IAD / soft phone / BYO device and a telephone.
Q: CAN I USE MY EXISTING TELEPHONE EQUIPMENT?
Yes.You can use your existing analogue home or business telephone by connecting it to the Linqk ATA / IAD.
Q: CAN I INTERGRATE A LINQK ATA / IAD WITH MY PBX?
Yes.In most cases, it is possible to integrate a Linqk ATA / IAD with your office PBX.
Q: WHAT IS AN ATA / IAD HARDWARE DEVICE?
An ATA is an Analogue Telephone Adaptor. It converts voice (conversation) from a telephone into a digital signal that can be sent over the Internet.

Q: HOW DO I RESERVE A CONFERENCE
You can reserve a conference for multiple Linqk subscribers (conference services for non-Linqk subscribers coming soon!) by logging into your MyLinqk console and going to your Linqk+ menu.
Q: HOW DO I AND MY ATTENDEES ACCESS THE CONFERENCE ROOM THAT WE HAVE RESERVED
To access the conference room that you have reserved, you and the attendees of the conference must simply dial 12xxxx(4 digit conference room number)# from your / their telephone that is connected to your / their Linqk ATA/ IAD or Soft Phone.
