1. Q: WHAT IS LINQK BYO? top
Linqk BYO is a service that allows you to use your own SIP device with the Linqk service. You are able to enjoy all the same competitive call rates and unique national and global plans as other Linqk subscribers.

2. Q: HOW DO I SIGN UP TO LINQK BYO? top
Simply visit our plans page to decide which plan is suitable for you. Then go to the sign-up page and complete your Linqk sign-up. When prompted to choose a device, click on BYO Device.

3. Q: WHAT FEATURES WILL WORK WITH LINQK BYO? top
Standard network features such as:
  • Call Waiting
  • Caller ID
  • Call Forwarding
  • Call Return
  • Redial
  • Call Hold
  • Linqk +
will work with your Linqk BYO device.

4. Q: WILL EMERGENCY SERVICES WORK WITH LINQK BYO? top
Yes. However, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the provision of your Linqk VoIP service, you are required to maintain a landline or mobile telephone for the purpose of accessing emergency services (‘000’ and ‘106’) in the event of either a power or service outage.
If you have a BYO ATA / IAD with a lifeline (FXO) port and it is connected to an active landline (PSTN), then in the event of a power or service outage, your device will automatically revert to the landline (PSTN) for routing and termination of emergency services.
Please note! When making a call to emergency services, please ensure that you advise them of your location.

5. Q: WILL I STILL BE ABLE TO MAKE CALLS IF THERE IS A SERVICE OR POWER OUTAGE? top
Yes. Only if your BYO ATA / IAD has a lifeline (FXO) port, you have retained an existing landline (PSTN) and it is connected correctly to your BYO ATA / IAD’s lifeline (FXO) port. Your BYO ATA / IAD will automatically route your telephone calls directly through to your existing landline (PSTN) service. Charges will apply in such an event, please refer to you existing landline (PSTN) provider.
Please note if you use a cordless telephone or other phone device that requires electricity they will not operate during power outages.
You will not be able to use a Soft Phone in the event of a power or service outage.

6. Q: WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I REQUIRE? top
In order to use the Linqk VoIP service, you must have:
  1. A high speed internet connection, we recommend a minimum internet connection with a download / upload speed of 256/128.
  2. A broadband modem with an Ethernet port
  3. A SIP device
  4. A telephone.

7. Q: WHAT DEVICES WILL WORK WITH LINQK BYO? top
You can choose to use any SIP device on our network. However, Linqk does not guarantee the quality of the service or that every device will work with our service.

8. Q: HOW DO I CONFIGURE MY LINQK BYO DEVICE? top
Once you have completed the sign-up process, an email that will contain your Linqk account details necessary to configure your device will be sent to you. Please refer to your device’s owners manual for specific instructions on how to configure your device with your Linqk account details.

9. Q: WILL I RECEIVE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE? top
No. Technical assistance is not available with the Linqk BYO service.
